Charlene Childs, LPC Associate, LCDC

Clinical Therapist

A highly knowledgeable and seasoned counselor, Charlene Childs, LPC-A brings poise, decades of experience in education and counseling, and a clear understanding of how to help clients build a trusting relationship with her while helping them achieve their goals. Despite her extensive years of experience, Charlene still retains a singular quality of warmth and curiosity about each person she works with in therapy. She is genuinely interested in joining her clients “where they are” while also offering a path to improvement and self-discovery.

Her remarkable enthusiasm about counseling and guiding her clients is unmistakable. Her colleagues have remarked on the endearing consideration she takes with each and every client she encounters. Charlene clearly regards everyone as deserving the highest esteem, deepest compassion, and best guidance possible. Since she holds clients in such high regard, she exercises a unique ability to engage her clients in every moment they spend with her. Her ability to put others at ease allows many clients to explore their lives more fully, reveal their deepest thoughts and concerns, and learn new coping skills and therapeutic strategies to build a better life.

A professional of high achievement, Charlene graduated from Mohave Community College with an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Northern Arizona University. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Human Services with a specialization in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. With her unique background and expertise in two major fields, education and counseling, she is able to serve others and listen fully while sustaining a safe and productive environment. Utilizing her substantial knowledge base, Charlene can move beyond her impressive academic accomplishments to fully hear the concerns, understand pain and sadness, and then know what to do to assist her clients.

It is rare to find a professional who understands how to share the space of anxiety and self-doubt with her clients while also walking with them toward a new and improved way of living. Charlene is certainly that thoughtful and devoted therapist who celebrates her client’s triumphs, tenderly consoles them when there is a setback or failure, and always keeps her focus on what is best for her client in this moment.
