Evaluations

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

We have been diagnosing ADHD for twenty years and have been trained by the best researchers and diagnosticians in the country.

The most effective diagnostic tools, teacher and parental interviews and questionnaires (teens and children), behavioral rating tests, and clinical observation are used to achieve the most accurate diagnosis.

We differentiate between ADHD and other disorders that often share similar symptom presentations. As a result, your child will receive the most precise diagnosis and the best treatments.

Personal and Emotional Evaluations

Effective psychotherapy begins with the correct diagnosis.

Sometimes loved ones cannot tell us that they are in pain. They are agitated, irritable and withdrawn and may lash out in frustration and anger. Performance at work or school may suffer and disobedient behavior becomes frequent along with noncompliance with simple, routine tasks.

At Gearing Up, we have helped thousands of families discover the real problem their loved one is experiencing. Clinical depression, anxiety and stress are often the problem and counseling is instrumental in resolving these issues quickly and effectively.

Our assessment team uses the latest testing technology to answer the important questions about your loved one’s current general emotional wellbeing, coping skills, self image and self esteem, trust in others, coping abilities under adversity, empathy skills and much more.

Once the assessment is completed, the family meets with Dr. Milton Gearing to review the testing and the treatment plan. All questions and concerns are presented along with the therapist’s plan for improvement.

These assessments draw the “map” that assists the therapist in planning therapy.
